About the Job
The Assistant Tax Representative is a key role within our tax section, providing tax compliance and advisory support to a wide portfolio of clients. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment across various locations in Botswana. It suits a motivated individual with solid tax experience, keen attention to detail, and a strong desire to support clients with practical, compliant tax solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing & reviewing tax computations and reconciliations for various tax types (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE etc.).
- Ensuring full compliance with all relevant tax laws and BURS regulations.
- Managing e-filing and correspondence through the BURS eServices platform.
- Supporting client engagements with professionalism, technical expertise, and minimal supervision.
- Collaborating with team members and contributing to internal knowledge-sharing and training.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in tax compliance, a deep understanding of Botswana’s tax framework, and a passion for delivering client-focused solutions.
Minimum Requirements
- AAT, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Taxation would be an added advantage.
- At least 3 years of experience in a tax-focused role within an accounting or professional services firm.
- Proficiency in BURS eServices and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of Botswana tax legislation.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client portfolios effectively.
